Graduate Certificate in Culturally Responsive Leadership
The Graduate Certificate in Culturally Responsive Leadership prepares students for leadership roles that create, maintain and support a sense of belonging, particularly for marginalized populations in schools or education-related organizations. The curriculum will develop students’ knowledge and skills of organizational and community leadership that promote equitable and inclusive school environments, education-related organizations and communities.
Additional program topics include historical and current factors that affect schools and leadership; how empathy, trust and bias influence leadership; methods of action research; and how to use research to engage stakeholders.
Upon completion of the 15-credit-hour program, students will be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and skills in culturally responsive leadership. Our online classes involve a combination of synchronous and asynchronous work. When registering, you can find specific details about the dates and times for synchronous sessions in the course description section. Your synchronous sessions for each class will be scheduled on either Tuesdays or Thursdays within the hours of 4-8 p.m., following an every other week schedule for about an hour to an hour and a half (no more than two hours).
