Dr. Andrew Daire, dean of the VCU School of Education, has been granted American Counseling Association (ACA) Fellow status, the highest honor awarded by the ACA.

ACA Fellows are association members who have contributed to the counseling profession throughout their career and have made significant contributions through professional practice, scientific achievement and governance, or teaching and training.

"I am deeply humbled by this recognition, and I look forward contributing to, and advancing, the counseling profession and the ADA for many years to come," said Daire.

The ACA is a not-for-profit, professional and educational organization dedicated to the growth and enhancement of the counseling profession. It is the world's largest association exclusively representing professional counselors in various practice settings.

Daire and the other seven 2019 ACA Fellows will be recognized at the ACA 2019 Conference & Expo in New Orleans, March 28-31.

Dr. Donna Gibson, department chair and associate professor of the Department of Counseling and Special Education, was named an ACA Fellow in 2017.
