The Burford Scholarship was established by former students of Pearl Burford, a faculty member of the Richmond Professional Institute, to honor her memory.

Undergraduate and graduate students

Criteria

• Minimun GPA of 3.0
• Plan to be enrolled full-time
• Acceptance into teacher preparation program
• Plan to become an elementary school teacher
